Year 2 visit London

Year 2 had an exciting day visiting London on Wednesday 8th May.
 

 

 
We saw many famous London Landmarks such as St. Pauls Cathedral and the Shard.
 

 

 

The hardest but most fun part of our day was climbing 311 steps up to the monument.

 Our legs were so wobbly when we came back down!

 

 

      

 
 

 

 

 

Aliens in School!!

Year 2 had an amazing surprise when they arrived at school on Tuesday. The aliens had visited!
Our first clue was the terrible mess they made in the classrooms! We spent the day searching for aliens and imagining what the aliens might have looked like. We had such an amazing day. We wonder if they will come again soon.

Let's party .....

Yesterday, Year 2 had a fantastic afternoon at the Christmas Party!  Aisha was very happy as she played Musical Statues and found it a lot of fun, Lexie told me about the Dancing competition and Ugne  loved the cup cakes and other party food.

Year 2 had a brilliant time on the Pirate Day. We all dressed up as pirates and even the teachers joined in! We set sail on the seven seas and learnt about jobs that pirates have to do like climbing the rigging and scrubbing the decks. Next we searched the school looking for buried treasure and had to travel through lots of obstacles on the map. After that we went on a treasure hunt on the field. We followed the clues and found Blackbeard's treasure which we are keeping safe for him until he returns.

Dinosaur Day!

Year 1 have had a Dinosaur Day!
First we watched a film called 'Ice Age 3' and we had to identify some of the dinosaurs. Then we had to use words to describe the dinosaurs.
After the film we had to draw our favourite dinosaur and label all its parts using descriptive words. We also made our very own Dinosaur sweets! We had to mix all the ingredients together and then use dinosaur shape cutters to make our sweets look like real dinosaurs! They were delicious!
Finally we went on a dinosaur hunt in the environmental area... we had clipboards and magnifying glasses to help us... we spotted different dinosaurs and we even found some dinosaur eggs!!!

 

 

Our visit to the Museum of Childhood.

Year 1 went on an exciting trip to the Museum of Childhood on Tuesday 10th January.
First we had to take a short journey on the train to get to  Bethnal Green... we all got very excited when the train went into a tunnel!!
In the museum we had a lot of fun, there was so much to see and do! We played with some of the toys, explored the sensory pod, dressed up in many different costumes and did some role play.
The things we enjoyed most were Fairytale Land, having a ride on the rocking horse, winding up the giant robot and dressing up!

What's happening in Year 1?

The Christmas Production has been a big focus recently. Year 1 are performing a dance in the production and we have been practising hard! We have also been learning lots of new songs for the Christmas play and practising the actions for them. We do not have any pictures to show yet as we do not want to spoil the surprise!!!

We have also been using Numicon in Maths which has been a big success, children have been exploring the different shapes and making Numicom number lines. They have also been making patterns and identifiying the different shapes for numbers to 10.
